No other manufacturer can make this statement and back it up!
100% Eco-Safe, (No recycled materials) 100% SOLIDS, Only Super Epoxy can be used for Aquaculture, Acid Containment, Water Containment and Food Containment. The chlorine of your pool cannot breakdown Super Epoxy.
After years of testing, the chemists at our manufacturing facility have revolutionized the swimming pool coating industry. They have developed the only swimming pool coating in the U.S. that is 100% green. Super Epoxy Pool Coating is an odorless and non-toxic epoxy system. If you are an architect or engineer and you need a waterproof epoxy for a green building project, call us. We have the answers to all of your problems.
Due to the non-porous finish of Super Epoxy, fewer chemicals are needed because algae
mold or fungi cannot cling to its surface and is safe to use where food is stored or made.
Paint products that claim to be EHB coatings; most paint products have clay products and additives, which are water or oil base. Products, which are based with solvents such as MEK, Acetones or Zylenes will not stand up to chemicals. These coatings will break down and expose a toxic environment. Always read the MSDS sheets attached which is not EPA approved and can be very hazardous to your health. If it has odors do not use it. (All our products are odorless and non-toxic.)
Any product that needs to be heated or a solvent added to it usually will break down and oxidize in a short period of time and will chalk, cause flaking and delamination. When you add solvents it destroys the true molecules of the product and turns it into paint, which is now a porous finish. Any porous finish will never last more than 2 or 3 years before it starts to fail. Paints and coatings are always a temporary application.
Most paints and coatings are very toxic and have a bad smell; even when dry they leave a residual smell that takes some time to air out, most commercial or industrial coatings require you to move out when being applied to avoid risk of exposure and require you to wear extensive safety garments and respirators. Super Epoxy coatings are odorless, non-toxic and safe. There is no need to evacuate the area while applying or after application. We had an Air Quality Test done by OSHA, the result a 0.00% severity reading. Super Epoxy does not contain any toxic organic chemicals or heavy metals and is safe to you without any respirators.
Fiberglass gel coats use toxic resins that delaminate. Fiberglass fibers float around in your water, getting into your lungs or eyes causing irritation or other medical problems. Another problem is after the gel coat wears away, the pools do not hold water.
Most coatings delaminate and fail due high heat temperatures and excessive chemicals. Super Epoxy is heat resistant up to 400°.
Not only do your pools and tanks use fewer chemicals and energy, your pool or tank will never need to be re-plastered, nor do you have to replace the liner – thus resulting in less waste in our landfills.
Plaster, Marcite and Concrete become porous from acid washing, with Super Epoxy you will never again have scraped knees, elbows or cut feet.
We have an environmentally safe industrial resin and hardener which is applied with Epoxy Glass stitch matting, making the pool, floor or tank surface almost indestructible. Large companies use this system often to reinforce substrates that endure chemical exposure, heavy traffic or impact pressure. This process is known as SUPER EPOXY CONVERSION SYSTEM and is becoming more and more popular in the construction industry with new builds and rebuilds.
Super Epoxy new build pools do not rely on steel panels or steel mesh/rebar for structure, they do not have the potential to leech chemicals and rust back into the groundwater as a more conventional constructed pool would. (See New Construction)
Super Epoxy pools acts as a natural insulator. Your filter and heater will potentially run dramatically less than equipment on vinyl/ gunite pools. Additionally, less cleaning will have to be performed using automatic pool cleaners saving electricity. When automatic pool cleaners are used, the time it takes to clean the pool will be reduced saving additional energy.
YEARLY CHEMICAL USAGE REDUCED BY UP TO 50 %.
Super Epoxy coatings meet ANSI, NSF, and FDA standards, so it can also be used for drinking water containment, food that is, Biological Tanks, Aquariums, Animal Habitats, Indoor and Outdoor Waterparks.
A challenge to any manufacturer or private label to meet our test standards with proven, factual and certified data that the product performs as they say.
Super Epoxy Roof construction and coatings are certified green build or rebuild, installed with our Super Epoxy Conversion System will create an impervious monolithic titanium shell that will permanently stop water. Our roofs are safe to walk on, heat resistant, slip resistant, give off no VOCs, and are SRI compliant. Our roofs can withstand and exceed F5 hurricane. Our uplift test strengths are unmatched in the industry.
Super Epoxy Conversion Systems will reinforce and strengthen any foundation made of concrete, block, brick, mortar or stones. This creates a monolithic membrane, which seals basements to keep water out. Expansion co-efficiency properties allow flexibility and movement of the foundation, most foundations move which can cause cracking. Super Epoxy resists freeze/thaw cycles, so there is no need to worry about water penetration due to freezing weather or temperature change.
Super Epoxy insulates basements, which reduces heat loss. Super Epoxy is non-porous; radon has less of a chance to penetrate the surface.
Super Epoxy is the eco-friendly choice to restore swimming pools, spas, ponds, decks, aquariums, animal habitats, floors, basements, lift stations, wet wells, car wash bays, masonry, rusty steel, oxidized zinc services, industrial manufacturing plants, car tunnels, indoor/outdoor waterparks and slides.
With more and more people concerned about our environment, Super Epoxy is used for above ground flexible tank lining, low-temperature lining for petroleum products, high heat resistant coatings (up to 400°), deep sealer for porous concrete, highly aggressive acids, including 98% sulfuric acid, designed specifically for molten sulfur, historic restoration, underground drinking tanks and industrial tanks. (See MSDS Data for more details)
The unique performance of Super Epoxy increases the efficiency of your project and contributes to the increased longevity of all areas receiving the coating system.
Paint is such a ubiquitous and essential product, so invaluable for so many projects, that it is unnerving to discover the hazards associated with it. Fortunately, Sawpaint only uses products that are Eco-Friendly and GREEN. There are a growing number of suppliers of paints which are less harmful. We do our part to familiarize ourselves with the application of these products before we use anything on your project. We have tried and tested hundreds of products to narrow the playing field to a select few.
Why Go GREEN? Hazards – Your health: Painting and decorating is so hazardous that it has been described as a “carcinogenic profession” (1989 World Health Organization figures). DIY-ers are exposed to the same risks, albeit at a lower level.
Manufacturing paint consumes a lot of energy, and conventionally produces up to ten tons of waste, much of it toxic, for every ton of paint – and that’s before you consider how toxic the paint itself can be!
One major hazard is VOCs – Volatile Organic Compounds. These evaporate, causing eye, nose, and throat problems, and headaches, and contributing to the formation of ground-level ozone. They include known carcinogens such as toluene and xylene. Most paints now carry VOC ratings – this is a voluntary move by paint manufacturers to show that they are beginning to behave in a more responsible manner.
Not all VOCs are artificial toxins – they include alcohol and citrus oils – so VOC ratings, while helpful, do not tell the whole story. Do not be misled. It’s NO VOC or NO GO!
Most products have the lowest possible VOC rating: unfortunately, some of the water-based paints designed to be low in VOCs actually contain more of other harmful chemicals! – E.g. alkyl phenols and vinyl resins (see below).
Alkyl phenols are hormone disrupters, which accumulate both in the human body and in the environment.
Vinyl resins are carcinogenic skin irritants, which can also cause lung, liver and blood damage.
It’s worth asking for a list of ingredients. Some ‘natural’ paints still contain synthetic alkyds, white spirit (‘aliphatic hydrocarbons’ – a petroleum product), vinyl resins, and titanium oxide, which you may or may not be happy to use. Other ingredients – such as linseed oil and orange peel – make them sound good enough to eat, and users report that the paints either don’t smell at all, or that they smell gorgeous.
Manufacturers of natural products claim that reduced processing means less waste, less energy used, and less pollution. Production residues and any surplus product ‘can be turned into plant-friendly compost’.
Natural paints and coatings cost more than mass-produced petrochemical alternatives. With small production volumes and high ideals this is hardly surprising: the direct cost to you may be greater, but the hidden costs to your health and to the wider world will be much less. And they have a reputation for being a real pleasure both to use and to live with.
If you can’t find a natural coating that you can afford, the guilt-free alternative is to use up cast offs that would otherwise go to waste.
